Attorneys Richard J. Grahn, Kevin M. McGinty, and Carol A. Starkey have been appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to serve initial three-year terms on the Massachusetts Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Committee.
The SJC also re-appointed Committee Chair Michael D. Badger, founder of Badger Legal Group, for an additional one-year term representing the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, and Janette Ekanem, Associate General Counsel at Atrius Health, for a second three-year term representing the Boston Bar Foundation.
The IOLTA Committee uses the interest generated on attorneys’ bank accounts holding client funds along with cy pres awards in class action lawsuits and certain court and attorney registration fees to provide funding for civil legal aid programs and access to justice initiatives throughout the Commonwealth.
